Exile entails a constant search for images that are shared between the homeland and the place one is exiled to, a way to still feel connected to a scene registered in our memory. The sea, in its minimalistic horizontality, simplifies what surrounds us into an image easily linked to that place in our memories: it is not the same sea, but for an instant, almost imperceptible, one can experience it in the same way. Será tiempo de volver is a line of the horizon collectively built by Venezuelan migrants spread across the world, who took pictures of the sea in their host countries, and then received somebody else's picture as a postcard.
Together, they build a portrait of the sea, experienced with their feet in the water but with closed eyes, as a space felt with their body yet envisaged in their memory.
